The 2006 Xiaguan Jin Si Tuo is a classic tight-compressed Pu-erh tea produced by Xiaguan Tea Factory. It is well-known for its distinctive smoky aroma, firm compression, and excellent aging potential. As one of Xiaguan’s signature Tuocha (bowl-shaped compressed teas), it retains the traditional characteristics of Yunnan Tuocha and holds great value for both drinking and collecting.

Product Characteristics:

Selected large-leaf Yunnan sun-dried raw tea, primarily composed of medium to robust tea leaves, blended with tender buds for added complexity. Compressed using traditional high-temperature steaming, resulting in a tightly packed Tuocha, ideal for long-term storage and aging. Wrapped with a golden ribbon ("Jin Si"), giving the tea its name and distinguishing it as part of Xiaguan’s premium Tuocha series. Aroma & Taste Aroma: Signature Xiaguan smoky fragrance, accompanied by hints of pinewood smoke, floral and fruity notes, and potential aged woody or honey aromas after years of storage. Tea Liquor: Over time, the liquor has transformed into a deep golden or amber color, with a thick and smooth texture. Taste: Rich and bold smoky aroma upon the first few infusions, followed by a thick and robust body. Moderate bitterness that quickly fades into sweetness, with an intense hui gan (returning sweetness) and lasting salivation effect. Well-structured complexity, transitioning from a strong smoky opening to a mellow, sweet, and smooth finish. High endurance, maintaining a strong presence even after more than 10 infusions. Leaf Base (Tea Leaves) Thick and resilient leaves with a deep color, showing good elasticity and flexibility after years of aging. This indicates a rich internal composition, suggesting further aging potential. Aging & Transformation After nearly 20 years of aging, the smoky aroma has mellowed, blending more harmoniously with the tea’s natural sweetness and smoothness. Dry Storage: Results in a cleaner, brighter liquor with a more distinct aroma and complexity. Wet Storage: Produces a stronger aged fragrance with woody notes, though excessive humidity may reduce clarity and freshness. Continued aging could further enhance the tea’s mellowness, reduce bitterness, and amplify sweetness. Market Value & Suitability Collectibility: As part of Xiaguan’s classic Tuocha series, the 2006 Jin Si Tuo has limited availability and high market recognition, making it a worthy investment and collectible tea. Best for Tea Drinkers Who: Enjoy smoky-style Pu-erh, with bold flavors and strong character. Are experienced tea drinkers looking for a complex, long-lasting raw Pu-erh.
